Strengthening Network Resilience and Expanding Reach
Neptune provides 100% geographic coverage across Trinidad and Tobago’s land and territorial waters. VSAT is a two-way satellite communication system that uses small Earth-based stations to transmit and receive data via satellites. The technology allows for rapid ‘light up service’ and provides ‘Always On’ connectivity and is highly resilient to hazards that affect terrestrial networks.

After witnessing the 9/11 terror attacks in New York in 2001, Jordan began thinking about the implications for the global telecommunications industry. “Once you cut off the ability to communicate (especially during a disaster), what becomes clear is the acute vulnerability of the officers, institutions, agencies, departments and ministries charged with managing national critical infrastructure and national well-being. Network outages cripple the people, methods, infrastructure and systems responsible for “re-booting” a region or country after a major disaster,” he points out. “What we are building is critical for economic development and national digital transformation efforts”.
Growth and expansion of the Caribbean-based company followed. Neptune now has operations in Barbados and Jamaica and began operations in Trinidad and Tobago last year following the award of its TATT concession.
