C&W Communications (C&W), operator of Flow and BTC in the Caribbean, today announced the appointment of Simone Martin-Sulgan to its Executive Leadership Team, as Vice President of Flow Trinidad & Tobago.

The appointment is part of an organizational shift that also includes new roles for C&W in the Dutch Caribbean, North Caribbean, and South Caribbean. Of the four new positions, two will now be held by women.

Mrs. Martin-Sulgan, a native of Trinidad & Tobago, has over 15 years of experience in the Telecommunications industry. She has worked across the Caribbean, holding senior management positions in Trinidad and Tobago, the Cayman Islands, and the Southern Caribbean.

After pursuing an MBA and MSc in International Business Development and Consulting in Germany and France, respectively, she returned to the Caribbean in 2014 and began her tenure with C&W as the VP of Mobile Operations for the Bahamas Telecommunications Company. Her most recent role was as Senior Commercial Director of the South Caribbean, a wide portfolio that included the islands of Trinidad and Tobago, Barbados, the Dutch Caribbean, Saint Lucia, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Grenada, and Dominica.

Inge Smidts, CEO of C&W, said, “I am confident that the experience Simone brings to this new role will result in immediate successes for customers and employees alike. She brings great value and creativity to the position and will unlock new opportunities for Flow. Her appointment also represents our commitment to ensuring qualified women can move into leadership positions and bring greater balance and female representation in our industry.”

On her appointment, Mrs. Martin-Sulgan said, “I am excited about this new position and eager to get the ball rolling. Critical will be our continued support to our customers and employees with compelling and innovative offerings. I will aim to challenge the status quo, taking more calculated risks to create value for our customers and internal and external stakeholders.”

Kurleigh Prescod, the current Country Manager of Flow Trinidad and Tobago, will transition into the new role of VP of the South Caribbean covering Barbados, Dominica, Grenada, St. Lucia and St. Vincent and the Grenadines. He will be responsible for driving business growth and corporate strategy in those markets. Mr. Prescod served as Country Manager for two years and doubled as Director of Technical Operations for Trinidad & Tobago and the Dutch Caribbean markets.

Smidts continued, “I must congratulate Kurleigh on his outstanding achievements in Trinidad and Tobago. He has built a great team and is leaving the business in a strong position for Simone to build upon. I expect that he will bring the same energy and vigor to the South Caribbean that will deliver results and exceed our targets.”

Speaking on his appointment, Prescod stated, “I am excited by this opportunity to work across several of our markets. We have a clear mandate of keeping our customers connected to what matters most by delivering an unsurpassed customer experience. I’m ready to work closely with the teams as well as our stakeholders to ensure that across the South Caribbean, everyone has access to best-in-class products and solutions from Flow, the number one entertainment and communications provider.”
