TSTT’s Bacchus takes up Ministerial role

1 Mins read

Hassel Bacchus has been appointed Minister in the renamed and potentially refocused Ministry of Public Administration and Digital Transformation.

Bacchus was most recently the Chief Technology Officer of TSTT and took the lead on the company’s implementation of fixed wireless 5G technology, still in the process of being rolled out almost two years after it was launched.

Bacchus ended a 25-year career with the majority state-owned telecommunications company and was last interviewed on the status of the company’s reengineering of its backend financial systems and the challenges TSTT had encountered in implementing the software that runs the company’s financials.

In his role as CTO, Bacchus was notable for his blunt assessment of challenges associated with technology implementations as well as being a vigorous champion of ICT as an engine of national development.
