TATT declares it is “disturbed” by TSTT data breach

1 Mins read

The Telecommunications Authority of Trinidad and Tobago is disturbed by the recent breaches of data at Telecommunications Services of Trinidad and Tobago Limited (TSTT) and the release of consumers’ confidential information in the public domain.

The Authority is very mindful of the potential adverse implications this matter may have on consumer confidentiality and has been in discussion with the affected provider on what transpired, and measures to be introduced to prevent a recurrence.

The public is advised that the Authority is viewing this matter as serious and will work with service providers to ensure that the highest level of network security is maintained.

The Authority recommends that as a precautionary measure and to reduce possible exposure, consumers should adopt the practice of not saving their passwords, credit and debit card data to websites.
