Flow upgrades, reshuffles broadband packages

4 Mins read

Since we launched our Broadband service in 2007, we have continually invested in our network infrastructure to ensure that you have the fastest and most reliable Broadband in Trinidad.

Over time we have rationalized our packages and in each instance we have included new packages to ensure that we meet the needs of a wide range of customers. Since 2013 we have increased speeds but continued offering the packages currently available at no additional cost to you. What we have noticed is that customers are consistently requesting more speed.

In order to continue delivering value to you, we are revising and upgrading our packages. We’ve adjusted our broadband offering to serve you better, and from October 1st customers who currently subscribe to our 15, 75 and 150 Mbps plans will be automatically upgraded to the next available package. We encourage you to choose based on how you use your internet service along with price and other considerations.

Over the next month, customers on these plans will receive information from Flow which will inform them of the changes and ask them to share with us their next steps.

What are the important points to note?

  • The 15, 75 and 150 Mbps packages that are offered up to now will no longer exist. Customers have the choice to re-examine their broadband needs and select a package that is suited to their needs.
  • We have communicated with our customers and offered a new package to them, and, if they choose to accept the package will be adjusted automatically on their account.
  • If the customer wishes to select another package he or she can call us or we will also contact them to ensure they understand our new offering and we have recorded their updated selection.
  • We now offer six broadband packages and they are called Basic, Essential, Plus, Max, Turbo and Ultra.

Here are some other important points about the changes:

For customers who are currently on the 15Mbps package

We’re no longer offering the 15Mbps package as we’ve found via our research that customers are asking for higher speed options at competitive prices so they can do more. As a result we’ve introduced a 30Mbps package –the Essential package, for our customers that may have 3-4 devices in their household with perhaps one family member or device doing some streaming and the others doing light browsing and emails. This package costs $219.99 which is just $24.65 more than what a customer who has 15Mbps may be paying now.

For customers looking for more speed

You may be part of a household that uses more than 4 devices. Your kids and you may come home after school and work, and add your phones and tablets to your home network via Wi-Fi. Your kids may settle down to watch a movie online, play a game or conduct research via videos on You Tube.

You may have to jump onto a teleconference for work or finish research for a report. In addition, everyone’s checking into social media from time to time. For these households, our Plus, Max, Turbo or Ultra package will probably work better for you.

  • Instead of offering a package for 75 Mbps we’re now offering a 120Mbps package which is designed for up to 8 devices in a household. So for those households of 5 or more in which some persons are streaming and others may have two devices on at a time, this may be the package for you. It is available for $40.87 more per month
  • Rounding out our package upgrades we’ve also upgraded one of our highest offerings. Our 150Mbps package has been increased to 240Mpbs for an additional $64.13 per month. With 240Mbps, depending on how many devices are connected in your household and how much streaming you do, you will receive good speeds with little degradation across devices.

Here’s a breakdown of the new packages.
