DIRECTV has added CCN TV6 to its list of new channels, strengthening its foothold in the realm of local entertainment. With TV6 being one of the most watched networks in Trinidad & Tobago, DIRECTV customers now have access to what they want to watch most.
This launch takes DIRECTV’s new channel count to 38 between February 2015 and February 2016, and fortifies the quality of entertainment provided by DIRECTV. Subscribers now have even greater choice.
When asked for feedback on TV6’s advent aboard DIRECTV’s platform, Rhonda Ottley, TV6’s Station Manager, had this to say; “TV6 is very excited to partner with DIRECTV and looks forward to providing as many viewers as possible with a top quality Newscast and exceptional programming. We are happy to be one of the first partners in this endeavor, marking a significant milestone in DIRECTV’s blueprint.”
On channel 130, DIRECTV subscribers can now enjoy Prime Time News on TV6, Morning Edition, Beyond The Tape and leading international content like WWE Raw, The Bold & The Beautiful, Empire, The Big Bang Theory, Grey’s Anatomy and Sindhoor. With TV6 now on DIRECTV’s regular lineup, customers can access it via the programming guide on channel 130 without the need for a local antenna. Customers will also be able to pause, record, and rewind live TV as well as other DVR features.
For DIRECTV General Manager Bernard Pantin, the launch is personally satisfying.
“Having been involved with the introduction of TV6 as the first new private television station introduced to Trinidad and Tobago in 1991, it is very fulfilling to now have TV6 on DIRECTV”, said Pantin.
“This week marks exactly 19 years since DIRECTV was launched and it really means a lot to now be able to add the channel that has dominated local television for most of the last 25 years. CCN gave birth to DIRECTV back in 1997 and now that we are on our own, we are happy to welcome our former sister company to the digital satellite television platform.”
TV6 is now available to both Pre-Paid and Post-Paid customers at DIRECTV. Pre-Paid customers who re-charge this week will have a chance to enjoy all of the TV6 carnival coverage during the next couple of weeks.
