Digicel offers help to Windows laggards

1 Mins read

Windows has recently announced that the company will no longer offer Windows 2003 server support and has urged businesses to move to the more recent Windows 2012 R2.

Failing to migrate to the new OS will result in obsolete security protocols and, in turn, higher risk of security threats which can be extremely detrimental for businesses.

Understanding the crucial importance of data protection and continuous server support, Digicel has partnered with HP and HyperSync to offer a smooth and efficient Migration service to the new OS.

The Migration will be offered as a turnkey package, which will ensure migration to Windows 2012 R2 both in the cloud and on premise.

The migration process will comprise four phases: Discover- catalogue of software and workloads; Assess – categorise applications and workloads; Target- identify destination and Migrate- make the move.

Business customers can expect a zero contact, hassle-free experience thanks to Digicel and its partners. HyperSync will support the end to end migration, while HP will provide hardware upgrades, as it is estimated that 25% of the systems will need new hardware.

With this new Migration package, Digicel will ensure that data is protected at all times and never accessed or shared with a third party.
