Digicel supports TT digital transformation

1 Mins read

Digicel supports the move by the government of Trinidad and Tobago to transform the country into a digital economy, and is confident that its network is the most prepared for the transformation.

The announcement comes on the heels of Finance Minister Colm Imbert’s Budget Presentation for fiscal 2020-2021, where he highlighted the importance of high-speed broadband access and ICT infrastructure in achieving the country’s move toward becoming a digital economy.

Jabbor Kayumov, Chief Executive Officer of Digicel commented, “We have invested millions of dollars into our network to ensure that we can give the support that is needed for the success of T&T’s digital transformation.

Just last week, Ookla confirmed that Digicel received the Ookla Speedtest Award as Trinidad and Tobago’s Fastest Data Network and the award for Best Mobile Coverage. This stands as testament that we are ready to deliver the service that is needed to take the country forward into the digital age.”

Digicel continues to advocate for digital transformation and the creation of Smart Cities where technology is seamlessly infused into the day-to-day operations of healthcare, education, e-commerce and security among many other areas.

“We understand the immense benefits this would have for the citizens and accept our role in facilitating its success by providing reliable and accessible connectivity. The people of T&T can count on Digicel to be there with them during this exciting evolution,” ended Kayumov.
