Over one-hundred thousand Digicel+ customers are now enjoying faster internet speeds, as Digicel has given customers a free speed upgrade of up to 100Mbps until February 1st 2022.

The Digital Operator has provided this extra speed allotment as a thank you to its fibre-broadband customers for being patient during the uncharacteristic and uncommon disruptions they experienced last Wednesday.

Digicel CEO, Abraham Smith said: “Digicel is the best and most reliable network in Trinidad and Tobago and if things don’t go as planned, we own it. Even though we have a detailed rebate and adjustment policy that guides our operations, we’re waiving it on this unique occasion and gifting everyone this extra speed. We promised to deliver you the best network and will continue to earn that honour of being the #1 choice for our customers.”

General Manager of Digicel+, Navin Balkissoon added: “We are flexing the network’s muscles a bit by showing that we are capable of handling this mammoth increase being given to all our customers who were active and affected by last week’s disruption. This giveback is valued at around TTD $10 million and we hope that our customers enjoy the next two weeks of even faster browsing on T&T’s fastest network.”

In 2021, Digicel+ received the highly coveted Ookla award for being T&T’s fastest fixed network and the brand is staying committed to maintaining the service quality, which won them the accolade. The company’s technical team remains fully engaged, working around the clock to ensure that the network performs at optimum levels.

Balkissoon continued: “Our customers stand by our superior service and we thank them for being so understanding that technical difficulties can even affect the best. Many people have already reacted quite favourably, as they noticed the speed increase positively impacting their day to day operations.”

Back in 2020, Digicel evolved their operations into becoming a Digital Operator focused on delivering powerful digital experiences for their customers, while making five brand promises.

Company CEO, Abraham Smith ended: “We are the only provider that made explicit promises to our customers and they hold us honest to them. I am confident that we offer the best product, service and value in the market, and we will continue to do so because that’s what we promised our customers, and at Digicel we keep our promises.”
