The Trinidad & Tobago International Financial Centre (TTIFC) announced today that effective Wednesday 29th September 2021, Ewart Williams, former Central Bank Governor, had resigned from its board of directors.

Williams was appointed to the board in April 2016 and served on the Finance and Investment Committee and the Audit Risk and Compliance Committee.

Announcing the board level change, TTIFC Chairman Richard P. Young said, “While the TTIFC will experience the loss of Ewart’s advice and counsel, the company continues to work on achieving its goals outlined in its realigned mandate, and we look forward to working with all our stakeholders to provide a FinTech-Enabled future for Trinidad and Tobago.”

The TTIFC is working closely with the independent FintechTT stakeholder group, a non-profit formed to advance the sector locally.

Ewart Williams’ departure follows on other top-level resignations at the TTIFC over the last year.
