Microsoft announced the winners of the 2014 Microsoft Partner of the Year Awards on June 18, celebrating top partners solving customer challenges with creative technology solutions. Included in the announcement were five companies based in Trinidad and Tobago, Eastern and the Southern Caribbean.

Local software developer Teleios Systems Limited was named the global as well as LATAM New Markets winner of the YouthSpark Citizenship Partner of the Year Award for its annual Teleios Code Jam programme at the 2014 Microsoft Partner of the Year awards.

The YouthSpark award recognises a partner that creates unique technology or supports an employee engagement programme to serve the needs of youth between 6 and 24 years old.

“Teleios is really very honored to have been recognised by Microsoft for our Teleios Code Jam programme because it represents the heart of who we are. We have always felt that Trinidad and Tobago and the wider region have the capability to be producers of technology and not just consumers of technology. It is our hope that through the Teleios Code Jam we can do our part to help build that capability,” said Kevin Khelawan, chief operating officer Teleios Systems Limited.

Infotech Caribbean Limited was named a finalist in the Cloud Partner of the Year Global Award and the Winner for the LATAM New Markets territory, after successfully packaging Microsoft cloud and industry specific solutions to bring innovation to several industries such as healthcare, financial services, security, retail and government.

“It has always been my view that we have very talented software developers here in the Caribbean. Our 35 years of experience in developing business solutions on the Microsoft platform, has allowed us to leverage the power of the cloud to effectively export this talent globally” said Lorcan Camps, chief executive officer of Infotech Caribbean Limited.

Additionally, Davyn Limited, Inova Solutions/Netpro, and Infodom, based in T&T, Curacao and Martinique respectively, were winners in the Country Partner of the Year Awards for growing customers through impact and satisfaction.

Awards were presented in multiple categories, with winners chosen from a set of more than 2,800 nominations from 117 different countries for the 46 global award opportunities.

“We continually strive to deliver innovative, best-in-class solutions and the highest degree of service possible,” said Derrick Villeneuve founding director/director of strategy Davyn Limited.

“This award is a validation of our commitment to building an exceptional team and putting our customers first. We stand by our tag line of making their businesses better,”
