Public WiFi to roll out by bus

The provision of free Wi-Fi is a country-wide initiative of the GoRTT aimed at bringing more citizens online and allowing greater access to available e-government and other services.

Through this programme, GoRTT intends to bring more citizens online and provide greater online access.

The project has three phases:

Phase One: Free public Wi-Fi access in 13 PTSC buses along selected routes

Phase Two: The network will be expanded to include public hospitals, health centres and PTSC transport hubs

Phase Three: Island-wide connectivity in almost every community, starting with public spaces such as passport and licensing offices

About TT WI-FI

TT Wi-Fi is an initiative of the Government of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago to provide free Wi-Fi access to the public. It is in line with government’s vision to provide free and easy access to broadband internet in public spaces. TT Wi-Fi is available to all users with a Wi-Fi enabled device, including smartphones, laptops and tablets.

Currently, TT Wi-Fi is available on 13 specific Public Transportation Service Corporation (PTSC) buses.

TT Wi-Fi allows you to:

  • Access government websites and e-services
  • Check your email
  • Connect using your preferred social media apps
  • Keep in contact with friends and family via Instant Messaging apps
  • Check the latest news

How To Connect

Simply choose the TT Wi-Fi network from your device’s list of available networks.

  • Go to Settings
  • Select Wi-Fi Settings and then select the “TT Wi-Fi” network
  • Accept the Terms and Conditions
  • Click “Connect”
  • That’s it! You’re connected!

TT Wi-Fi is available 12 buses in Trinidad and one in Tobago plying the following routes:

  • Port- of- Spain to Arima and Sangre Grande
  • Port-of-Spain to San Fernando
  • Port-of-Spain to Diego Martin
  • Port-of-Spain to Chaguanas 
  • Tobago

These buses operate from 5am-11pm daily.
