Covid-19: CANTO cancels 2020 Conference and Expo

1 Mins read
CANTO has been monitoring the global impacts of the COVID-19 virus and the resulting uncertainty about when it will end. As such, the decision was taken to cancel the Annual Conference and Trade Exhibition scheduled for July 2020 in order to minimize the risk of contagion amongst conference delegates.
This decision was not an easy one but is necessary to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all CANTO’s members, staff and stakeholders. CANTO remains ever present within the industry through the “CANTO COVID-19 Task Force” designed to support regional governments, operators, regulators and members in the battle against COVID-19. The task force will provide a platform for all stakeholders to collaborate online and share best practices and lessons learnt in dealing with the current crisis.
The task force will also introduce a weekly webinar series “CANTO Chats” which will focus on topics to reinforce the importance of proper utilization and maximization of resources given the changes in working and living in a virtual environment. Topics such as ICT Infrastructure Sustainability, Business Continuity Best Practices, Working from Home during the COVID-19 Pandemic and the Financial Impact of COVID-19 on small and medium sized organizations would be covered once per week to keep the conversation going amid the crisis.
CANTO would like to thank you for your support throughout the years, for trusting this decision in the interest of public health and doing our part in flattening the curve. We are committed to work with governments and citizens to keep connectivity alive during this pandemic.
Join us online for the webinars and see you at our AGM in 2021.
