Local private ride startups give Uber the squinty eye

LoopTT reports on the reaction of the four local private ride startup services on the announcement of Uber’s entry into the market.

“They can throw wonderful, attractive incentives to get people to use the system and drive for them but as they go along, they decrease their rates so much so that we have people complaining that to make a living you have to work 16 hours a day,” he [Wayne Bolai, founder of Quikpikup] said of the Uber model where drivers basically operate as their own business.
